# Which of my leads are worth calling first?

> Drop in a CSV of your leads and score each one on company size, country and job title, with the sum shown for every row. The file never leaves your browser.

Score each lead with a few plain rules and call the highest scores first. This tool gives points for company size, for a country you sell into and for a known job title, then calls the lead hot, warm or cold. It shows the sum for every row, and your file stays in your browser.

## How this is calculated

1. Company size: two hundred employees or more scores three points, fifty or more scores two, ten or more scores one, and anything smaller scores nothing.
2. Country: a lead in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland or New Zealand scores two points. The column has to hold the two-letter code, such as US or CA.
3. Job title: any title at all scores one point.
4. The points add up to the score. Five or more is hot, three or four is warm, and anything lower is cold.
5. Each row shows the points for size, country and title next to its total, and the download writes the same sum out in words.

### Where the rules come from

They are the rules in my lead scoring template, the one listed as the explainable lead score in the template library. That template is built and has never run. This page runs the same rules on your rows, so you can see how they would rank your own leads before anything is set up.

### Assumptions and limits

- Your file is read and scored in this browser. The rows are never sent anywhere, and the page keeps nothing once you close it.
- These rules are one example, and the right ones for your business may differ. Size, country and title are what the template happens to score on.
- A full country name such as Canada scores nothing, because the rule matches two-letter codes only.
- A blank size counts as zero. A size that isn't a number, such as a range, also scores nothing and shows as unknown. In a file split by commas or tabs, commas inside a number are fine. In a file split by semicolons, a dot inside a number counts as a thousands mark and a comma as the decimal point.
- A title with any text in it counts, whatever the title is.
- The score uses only what is in your file. The template fills in size, country and title from two data providers first, and this page leaves that step out.

## Questions

**Is my file uploaded anywhere?**

No. Your browser reads the file and scores it on your own computer, and the scored copy you download is built there too. The page never sends your rows to me or to anyone else.

**Why use rules for the score?**

With a rule, the same lead always gets the same score, and anyone can read why. When a rep asks why a lead was called cold, the answer is in the row.

**Can I change the rules?**

On this page they are fixed, so the result matches the template. In a real setup the thresholds, the country list and the band cut-offs are yours to set, and I write the reason into each record so the team can see it.

**What should a CSV file look like?**

One header row with column names, then one lead per row. Most CRMs and spreadsheets can save a list that way. After you load it, pick which columns hold the company size, the country and the job title.
